NetEnt has based several of its all-time popular slots of A-list Hollywood movies. There’s Frankenstein, Alien and even Dracula. The software developer has shown an affinity for creating themed horror slots for online casinos. Now, the Swedish developer has developed something rather different. The new NetEnt slot to look forward to this year is Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is the 2017 sequel to the original 1995 box office hit in which Robin Williams starred. Of course, the talented actor is no longer with us. Producers, therefore, managed to snap up the services of the infamous Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart. Add to those big screen names a multimillion-dollar budget and the Jumanji franchise once again enjoyed mega box office success.
In NetEnt’s press release announcing the release of the slot game, it was mentioned that Sony Picture’s raked in over $676 million from box office earnings around the globe. So, there’s little doubt that NetEnt has secured the rights to another highly profitable Hollywood franchise for making movie slots.
The Swedish gaming developer has an excellent track record when it comes to securing rights to entertainment franchise. Think along the lines of NetEnt’s Planet of the Apes game. But, there’s no end to the software giant’s talents. NetEnt has proven more than capable of striking deals with recording artists, too. Motorhead, Jimi Hendrix and Guns N’ Roses have all been given the Swedish treatment as they’re reimagined into video slots.
At the moment, we don’t know for sure that NetEnt’s plans are for the Jumanji slot. For example, Planet of the Apes displayed two slot interfaces wrapped into one game. This shows us that NetEnt is willing and capable of breaking new ground with features found in the Jumanji movie and, in essence, the impending slot.
Previously, NetEnt has shown us just how ambitious it is when it comes to including special features, particularly in terms of bonus games. Considering the uber-magical jungle setting of Jumanji, we’d say there’s every possibility that players can look forward to mini games designed and based on scenes right out of the movie.
The good news is that you won’t have to wait too long for the new NetEnt slot. It’s earmarked for release in the first week of February 2018.
So, make sure you keep a look out for not only the reviews, but the slot itself, which will no doubt be available on both online casino software and mobile gaming platforms. We can’t wait to see if there will be free spins, scatters, and all the other slot features we know and love.
But, we can say this: the thought of Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Dwayne “The Rock Johnson” being involved has certainly piqued our excitement.
In the meantime, keep spinning the reels to hit those jackpots!
